Lots of women think a tight pelvic floor is a good thing but there is a very big difference between tight and strong.
A tight pelvic floor can lead to problems like back and hip pain, pelvic pain but it can also make it very difficult and painful for women to have sex.
This is extremely common. Sometimes women don't even know parts of their pelvic floor are overactive because their only symptom is back pain.
In this video we'll talk about what can cause your pelvic floor to become overactive such as recurrent urinary tract and thrush infections, trauma (birthing, sexual), autoimmune diseases and more. We will also explain how physiotherapy can help women with tightness in their pelvic floor.
