Disc don't just slip. They go through a process of breaking down over time when their metabolism is disturbed by something - often prolonged stiffness.
The longer this process continues uninterrupted the more significant the dehydration becomes in the disc. As this progresses the disc bulge gets larger and then 'prolapses' can occur - when a generalised bulge protrudes more in a particular direction e.g. towards the nerve as it exits the spine.
In this video you will learn about the difference between a healthy disc and a degenerated disc and the impact that has on the spine.
